Introduction
Immunizations are a proven, critical strategy in reducing the incidence of vaccine preventable disease. The immunization coverage rate for Nevada's children has been consistently low in recent years when compared to the national average. In 2008, for example, the National Immunization Survey ranked Nevada as 46th in the nation for the primary coverage indicator of 4:3:1:3:3:1 for children 19-35 months of age, with an immunization rate of 68%.
